Sold my CBR250RR today.. Didn't imagine I'd be this depressed about it.
Anyways onward to bigger and better things - hopefully a CBR f4i. Just got
to convince my dad now that getting a bigger bike is not that much more
    dangerous..

  3. Just assure him that on a bigger bike you'll be able to power out of trouble
    more easily...

Id guess after 5 minutes conversation assuming he is honest you will
discover either he has no talent as a rider and so assumes your the same
( has he 3 feet) or he was once bested by a bike rider over a woman and
is transferring his inadequacies to your situation , or he's a miserable
    stuffy old prick :_)
at least mine know Im just a prick :p

my grandfather used to own a motorbike factory/import/seller in Africa and
my dad worked there for a couple of years. He sold bikes to two of his mates
and they both ended up getting killed. Since then he hasn't ridden very much
    and is now anti-motorbikes :(

You do realise that is the _other_ Damien, don't you?

Then again, being hardcore does go with the name... :)

He knows and I agree for the riding I do I don't need anything more than a
250.. The reason I want the 600 is I want a fairly newish bike 01-03 and the
only 250 that interests me is the CBR which they don't produce anymore..

That and I do want the extra power *grin*

I've tried convincing him with the bigger bike - better brakes etc etc but
his main point is that with bigger bike > accelerates quicker > more tempted
to use that power and acceleration > if anything happens within that first
second or two of the fast acceleration I will not be able to react quick
enough --- on a 250 he says I wont have accelerated to such a velocity in
that first second or whatever and therefore will have more time to react..

I don't blame you. I'd change my name by deed poll to avoid being confused
with the other Damien too :)

Sounds like you've been paying too much attention to the Mini Cooper S ads in the cage mags. :)

And another thing, give me a call when you get the new tyre. I need an excuse to get out on the
bike. Between work and the new car the bike is living in the shed too much. :)

I've read this whole thread but I think I must have missed something. If you
couldn't replace the 250 why did you sell it? Did your Dad tell you to?
