  1. Honda FMX650 Brand new, OTR £4,500 but the best bit is the insurance.

    Eighty five quid!

There's no way I can really afford the bike but bloody hell, what a
    quote!

It's a crappy cheapo underpowered cross between a street bike and a
trailie built (IIRC) in Spain and not to Honda's usual standards. You
can do a bloody sight better.

TOG@toil emerged from their own little world
    to say
I had a new 1993 NX650 Dominator and that was a good bike back then. Apart
from the tyres nothing has been improved since then. I had only just passed
my full test and loved it.

The Dommies were Jap built. In late 90s they replaced it with the SLR650,
built in Honda's Italian scooter factory. This was a badly built, piss poor
bike. That FMX looks very similar, apart from the road bike wheels. A parts
bin abomination assembled in Italy (or maybe Spain now).

If you want a bike of that ilk then consider the V-twin Suzuki which is a
fairly modern design. You should be able to get one for the same price.

Not the most powerful bike at 37bhp. That may have something to do with
    the low insurance.

If you rate the suzy V twin 800 engine but would like better forks brakes
    etc

    Personally I'd ditch the topbox.
