So which French Runner has been a very, very naughty boy?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, May 4, 2009.

  1. Because I've had Plod here this morning, asking if I had anything to do
with a 'motorcycle rally' to France at the weekend.

And, specifically, did I have the details of any participants who were
travelling on the M25 between 0900 and 0945 on Friday morning?

As I can only assume they got my name and address from POSL, I suggested
that if they wanted a full list of participants, then POSL could supply
one, and that I had no idea who was on the M25 on Friday beyond myself
and and a couple of other people who I saw riding towards Dover on the
day and a few more who happeened to mention, later, that they'd got
caught up in the closure near Clacket Lane.

Further developments will be posted as and when they occur.

Why would htey need details of anyone if they had some kind of proof?

Aiding and abetting for you then.
I think I've got a file that could be baked into a cake.
Do POSL note the times people check in? that could narrow Plod's
    search somewhat.

Do Seafrance still carry bikes? I imagine they would be less helpful to les
    flics anglais than POSL.

It's probably also a good idea for folks to think twice before posting
anything potentially useful here - the eyes and ears of the police state are
    everywhere.

It doesn't affect me, as I wasn't in the time and place mentioned, but

No, I'll second that. I think TOG's winding someone up myself & I know
    exactly why that is.

If they had any kind of evidence they could use they would be knocking on
doors. Also, those mockpolice 4x4's have forward facing vidoe systems too.
Clacket lane services has CCTV all over the place & there are monitoring
cams all ov ers the M25, if they wanted someones reg number then they could
get it pretty easy i would think.

As TOG hasn't done anything, what grounds for giving them his address would
they have i wonder? Also, the port is *covered* in CCTV cameras & anpr
    bollocks.

The only interesting part of it is that - in the UK in 2009 - Tog's
story is sufficiently plausible to have hooked a number of paranoiacs.

    Here's my take on this.

The Police want to talk to someone regarding something that happened
specifically on the M25 at that time. Any bikes that passed the scene went
through at least 6 CCTV cameras forwrd & rear facing. they went past at
least three forward facing onboard mockpolice systems in the 4x4's.

How did they know TOG or whoever they want was going to Dover? If they knew
it was Dover they have loads of CCTV at the port & on the ferry. If they had
followed whoever on CCTV cameras, they could have *easily* intercepted them
at any time on the road or at the port.

If they had known TOG was on the ferry., they would have spoke to him at the
port to try to catch anyone at the same time.

Quite possible they don't have a number to really get them, but with all the
above, if they wanted the number, they would have it now & no need to go to
TOG's house. If they knew they where at clacket lane & dover they would
pictures of the bike, the person & the all important number plate to go with
the general description they already had.

How would they know TOG was anything to do with said person?

    Here's mine.

TOG isn't nearly as good a wind-up merchant as he thinks he is, and if
any of this was true it would be mind-blowingly stupid to engage in
detailed discussion of it on a public forum.
