that after some, frankly, trivial foulups at the BBC there are
apologies and resignations flying out like a cloud of rooks from a
belfry, yet shoot an innocent passers by and take countries into
illegal wars and no bugger will take responsibility?

    Gah.

  2. Well yes, I rather expect to be able to trust My BBC and am quite
offended when it turns out otherwise.

    Like I said..

I have to confess that I am not particularly inclined to be in the mood
for ranting right now. I think I am having one of life's mellow moments
these days. It'll wear off soon enough I am sure.

Indeed. Everyone knows TV and filming is full of fakery so I really
    don't understand the furore.

<other stuff> Well yes. The counterpoint with the TV stuff is almost
    surreal.

What I found odd about the fines for the phone in fraud is that the sums the
courts decided were fraudulently obtained were orders of magnitude larger
than the fines, making the whole exercise worth doing again if you think you
    can keep it quiet...
