anyone care to give advice on what to ask for the SOB so i can replace the
    stolen SOC.

    Yamaha XJ900F (pre Diversion)
    Original paintwork Black/red/greyish silver
    48000 miles
    A-reg 1983 (Early Model)
Runs and rides very well but has the usual YICs rattle at tick-over
Starts on the button every time.
Only fault I can find is a small tear in the seat which has been covered
with finest gaffer tape. Have spare seat but that also needs re-covering.
    original tool kit
    Original owners manual
    Haynes BOL
    MOT'd mid march 2005
    Taxed apr 2005
    Greater Manchester location.

  4. Sounds too cheap to me.

I'd have thought 895 as a try-out, and 795 as a "done!" nearer the mark,
if it's as nice as you say.

Thanks everyone, SWMBO has said i mustn't sell the bike (she likes the
    pillion seat too much)
She has dipped her hand in her pocket and coughed up enough for me to buy
    SteveH's Primera. *result*

thanks to everyone for offers of cars etc.
pips reanault would have been my second choice.

    Lol. You ****.

I'm a bit gutted, having almost done a deal on the MZ and Primera as a
swap for the XJ900..... still at least I've now got room on the drive to
park at least 2 of the current cars. My neighbours are getting a bit
funny about me having 2 cars in use and 2 'spares' cluttering up the
    road / drive.

  8. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember (SteveH)
    saying something like:

"Look, boyo, it's another pikey from Engulund."

Heh.... the proceeds from the Primula are going to getting the Golf
    roadworthy again.

Then all it needs is a quick wash and polish and they can't complain.
    Much.

I don't think the MZ went down too well either.

Speaking of Innger-lund, I keep seeing cars with clip-on Cross of St George
flags on them. I thought it was to do with some sporting event, but I'm
told it's the British Nazi Party (or something along those lines) frothing
    up for the Euro-elections.

I've seen a few around here, which I thought was more than a little odd.

Originally I assumed it was related to the pissed-up Mancs and Londoners
down here for the Cup Final, but they're still around now, 4 days later.

    Something far less sinister actually.

Apparently there's some football tournament in Portugal coming up, and
the lemmings are preparing for it by flying English flags and stocking
    up on cheap lager.

Well, you see. You should dismantle the unused vehicles and position the
bits around your garden. Then you'd fit in proper, like.

Well, I passed through yesterday. Decided to take the scenic route from
Cardiff to Abergavenny. Via Caerphilly Mountain, Abergwesyn, YM, Nelson,
    Bedlinog [1] & Rhymney.

It's been a long time since I was in that area [2]. Grass & trees rather
    than slag heaps.

[1] **** me, the road through that place is steep

  16. Bloody 'ell. Me too - I thought it was a bit of footie-induced
xenophobia, not the gas chamber advocates.

Does anyone know for sure? I have this image of the BNP starting it, and
the footie types taking it up as a fashion thing[1], and the BNP being
amazed at their current level of popular support...

[1]We're talking "chav" here, aren't we?

I have a feeling that there's a big BNP influence in it, around here,
    anyway.

Can't see any other reason there's quite a few cars in Caerphilly with
    St George flags on 'em.

    Wierd.

Rubbish. It's partially Euro 2004 but also English people are just
starting to be proud enough of their nation to display their flag.
Just like the Scots, Welsh and Cornish do.

So why are there so many around in South Wales, then?

Mind you, even if it is the BNP, I can't see why the Welsh would be
    flying a St George's cross.
