    Looks solid enough. Just make sure the top is at least 19mm thick,
    preferably 25mm thick plywood.

    But yeh, should be OK I guess. What I would ideally like is an 8x4 sheet of
    clear perspex to go on the top of it, but have no idea what that'll cost!

    Yeh I made a fence out of a load of pressure treated rough sawn pine.

    Cost less than 100 sheets.

    Cheapest source of materials is old pallets. Seriously; I've still got a
    solid bench I built ten years ago from pallet wood - it's had all sorts
    on it and is still sound.

    Ah yes, it says 3/4" for the top - I'd go up a thickness.
    An awful lot - and you'd not see through it after the first couple of
    weeks.
