Sodding hell. Gatso'd again

  1. A new one, which I didn't know about, locally.

Not a NIP but a demand for the ddriver's details. 40 in a 30, on that
    bloody Suzuki GN250 *again*.

Six points if prosecuted for failure to funish details.

Sure-fire risk of three points if I reply, and I'm already on six.

What says the FOAK? Chance my arm and ignore it?

Does that sound like a Court appearance if no NIP enclosed?
30% over the limit, so maybe they are cracking down on the speed freaks
who threaten the lives of the children every day. :)

    Should've gone to SpecSavers...
    So an immediate ban.
How old are the previous points?

  6. 'Swot I fort.... I was just wondering how many of these they bother to
    chase upp.

A grovelling letter wouldn't do any harm, either.

    Ah.

So 30 months of treading on eggshells, or just gamble on a short ban and
start from clean. That certainly makes life a bit more interesting...

Might be worth having a play on the insurance engines, and seeing what a
ban does to the premium vs 9pts.

When you buggering off to Patagonia?

  8. Exactly. And a ban in midwinter wouldn't be so bad.
    Good idea
Not for a long time as the land deal has fallen through (awkward
    neighbouring vineyard, basically).

serious, you'll see a ban is better than 9 points mate.

  10. Well, nine points makes no difference to the quote, really. A ban: they
    won't quote online.

  11. See below. Nine points doesn't really matter. A ban: they won't quote
    online

  12. I'd find a foreigner that could help you out, that way you can pay the
fine but avoid the points and not have to look over your shoulder.

But a totting up ban is a minimum of 6 months, unlike a band for a single
    speeding offence.

A six week ban for a single speeding offence had little or no effect
(IME) but insurers don't like bans through totting up so that would have
    an unpleasant effect...

Don't forget you'll need proof they were insured to drive the car at the
    time of the offence...

But that's on the cards either way, I s'pose.

He's got nine points in six months, what do you reckon the chances of
going thirty months without another three are?
