Assuming they remove the points. I believe that's not always the case?

That's a real bugger - particularly as it all seemed to be falling
    into place.

Bend over and hope they offer a rehab course rather than points.

  6. That's how I see it. Still, 20 years of a clean licence and then, wham!
Three tickets in six months, two on a poxy little 250 that's hard pushed
    to exceed 70mph.
This was a mile from the house, on a route I seldom use. And a new
    camera. Bastard things.

Depends on the individual force, it seems. When I got caught going out
of Barton towards Hitchin (at 57 in a 30) they told me I was up for
Court: 6 points and up to a grand. 56 in a 30, OTOH, would have been
three points and 60 quid. Taking the conversation a little further
while greasing up, I found that anything up to 42 in a 30 would be a
    day's "course" and a wigging.

I wriggled, they giggled and I got off with 3 points and 60 sheets.

Mind you, he'd be dealing with the Met. All bets are off.

Don't see why not - I got my re-education thingy after doing
    40-something in a 30.

  19. A few years back my brother in law let his German girl friend use his
bike to return to Germany because her one had broken down in England and
    he was fixing it.
She got done for speeding on the way to Dover.
He got the request for the name of the rider.
He replied giving her name and address in Germany.
The system then went into high gear and started to do him for perverting
    the cause of justice.
Guilty until he could prove himself innocent.

They never contacted the German address given and it took letters
'Notarised' from Germany before they decided not to proceed in this
    case.
No sorry we got it wrong.
    No sorry you are innocent.
No offer to pay for the notarised letter costs.
