A young friend was reading a HP book on Kindle recently and it didn't seem
quite right.......

Seems to me they are missing a trick there. If the fake is that good that
it will sell a million copies then surely some bright spark who is on the
game would see it as potentially very profitable to sign the author up and
publish his stuff rather than the expensive option of hiring a brief to
drive him underground. But then that is capitalists for you, instant
rewards from their greed is all they are concerned with.

 

Slashdot had an article a few days back about a p2p service
(limewire?) being sued for 75 trillion dollars, which handily enough
is roughly the worlds total money supply.

 

and more money that the music industry (the sue-ers) have ever made,
which is why the judge denied it.
