Two years ago SWMBO spotted one of these on site some place, since then I
have received hassle on a monthly basis about finding one, the problems
    were:

    a) I dont like crusiers
    b) I have never been keen on this marque
    c) They go for silly money

Then a week ago I received a one line email offering me one a (650) at a
very silly price, so yesterday I drove down to the south coast mit
    trailer and dragged this back.

It has the wrong indicator brackets on the front and a missing sidecover
otherwise it starts and runs very nicely, and is bloody quick for a 16
    year old parts bin special.

I could grow to like this.

Can you tell what it is yet?

Motor looks Ducati Pantah ish, so I'd guess a Ducati summat or other ...

But it's the ugliest fucking Ducati I've seen ...

Wassitlooklike without the tank, seat etc? ;)

Well it is a Ducati parts bin special really, the frame is box section and
quite nice really, the engine is Pantah based, carbs are Bings ala r80 etc
and indicators are early V Max, it shares alot of parts with the Cagiva
Elefante or Elephant as it was known in the UK, it was built 86 to 89 in
350, 650 and 750 versions and 30 came into the UK of which 17 went
straight to Germany. (Alegedly - all this is from the wife who seems to
rapidly becoming an expert on them)

Quite unusual really and bloody good fun to ride even if it is a fekin
    crusier, a style I despise.

The thing is it is for the SO to tempt her into passing her test, and she
just fell in love with it when she saw it.

    Ho hum.

  13. Ick. Obviously a Ducati engine of course, but from the total lack of style
I'd have hoped it would have been marketed as a Cagiva.

Ducati have always made bikes which *looked* good, and performed, if they
may not be all that reliable. That thing looks horrible so it has no right
to be a Ducati however nicely it rides.

    IMHO.

In general they are more reliable than BMWs, even the older ones.

  18. What's your monitor resolution? Can't you see the DUC
    ATI on
    the tank?
Not sure I'd go quite that far, unless there's an implied "stock"
there. Hmm, the rear disk seems larger than the front...

Yeah right, it comes from Italy where they don't have word for reliability
    in in their language.
