A few days ago - going up the outside of a line of traffic, she was in the queue, turned right, oops. Speed 5-10mph, Benly just bounced off the side of the car, no damage to son or bike. She demanded his details, saying he'd scratched her hire car (which apparently he had). She then buggered off without giving any of her details, and no, he didn't get the registration number. He was a bit shaken up, as you can imagine. Now Auntie Carole has been informed by (I suppose) the hire company, and has asked for details. The good no witnesses, his account differs from hers, her word against his, and both he and car hirer are insured by the same company: Equity Red Star. Which, says CN, is not going to sue itself for the damage to the car. So it's 99% certain they'll drop it. I imagine that the car hire firm doesn't GAF - they'll have docked her deposit so the damage is paid for anyway. Now - the fact that she didn't give her details (and we still don't know them), says CN, "is a matter for the police". Question: is it worth reporting her? Jamie won't make a claim against her, but I can't help thinking she's tried to pull a fast one, and in the unlikely event she tries a ciil action herself, it would be useful ammo. Thoughts?
