When I eventually get around to the repairs and re-take the MOT, do I have
to apply for a new tax disc renewal form or just present the one they
already sent me along with the other required docu's?

Depends.

If you are going to tax it from 1 Aug then use the form sent.

However, you only have 14 days into August to either tax it or reapply for
SORN.

Go beyond that date and you could get a fixed penalty fine.

Simplest option is to reapply for SORN online NOW.

Once the repairs are done & the bike is MOTed, apply for a tax disc online
- you only need the V5 in your name plus insurance & MOT

 

Already SORNed, the tax runs out Friday.

Hopefully the repairs should all be completed next month, I wondered if
using the renewal form to SORN cancelled that form so I have to apply for a
new form to renew the tax.

BTW: how long does hammerite take to set properly hard?

 

Once it's dried, it takes 6 weeks before you can successfully re-coat, so
it's a fucking long process.

In that case it can stay at one coat, its not like I'm trying to hide
