I'd rather you'd bothered to format your post in a normal manner.

Their jobs are on the line... the masses of money they've accumulated in
bonuses etc, if still in sterling, are currently worth relatively **** all,
and the gravy train they've been riding for 'some time' now has been
derailed and won't be 'resuming service' for the foreseeable.

    Of course they're sorry. :)

Once I got my £4.4m bonus (which was about the highest of the UK mentioned
IIRC) I'd have emigrated. I'm baffled as to why everyone thinks these few
guys in the 'bonus culture' getting a few million quid makes any difference
at all to the lost cash. No matter what they did it was going south, and
what they got (some under a million - all nothing compared to what they were
getting in the US) was just a pittance compared to the problem they had no
hope of making a difference to.

No, I did too. Honestly, you need to read it.

    Usually yes.
I read that and totally agreed with GM too. It made me feel rather
ill. I'm going to go off and read Polly Toynbee's column now. That
    should get my meters recalibrated.

Jesus, if there's one person more irritatingly lefty than Monbiot it's
Toynbee. She makes me proper stabby.

Wypijewski is no loony. In many ways, she would have fit quite
comfortably into the Atlee/Wilson Labour party.

i liked the cartoon on the front of metro this morning, it went along the
lines of: "m'lud, my client says he's sorry he robbed the bank, and hopes
that will put an end to the matter."
