    Hi All,

Can anyone direct me to a source for this? Prefereably with wide viewing angle LEDs?

    Thank you,

I can sell you some LED's, if there are none on my site with the
correct spec, what spec do you want? I don't have them ready to fit
brake/side lights though, easy enough to pot-up if you have an old
    bulb though.

Ignore the prices, just e-mail me (address on the site) with what you
    want and quote UKRM).

  5. Blaaaaaaady useful, matey. Noted and filed.

How awkward would it be to make up a LED torch bulb for a lantern
    battery sized torch (6V)?

I took a blown side light bulb from my headlight and crushed it gently
in my vice (to break and remove glass). On my first attempt I crushed
the bulb too much, on the second attempt I potted a single white LED
with resistor, third attempt[1] I used a blue and a white LED in the
same old bulb. It depends how much room you have in the torch.

Once the glass is removed from the bulb, solder the resistor to the
LED's anode as neat as you can, make a small hole in the bottom of the
bulb (through the solder), push the leg from the resistor through and
solder in place. Solder the cathode to the outside of the bulb. If
needs be, pot up with some epoxy.

For 6v and one of my 7000/8000 mcd LED's you would need a 82ohm
resistor, to give a good brightness and not burn the LED out.

[1] I go through a lot of side light bulbs on the GSX, the GS goes
    through brake light.
