Me and her headed out Thursday, Feb 12 for the Rio Grande Valley. Strong
South winds would be the only unfavorable, during this otherwise perfect
riding weather. 1st night at Robstown, just North of Corpus Christi.
Friday (77° in the a.m.) we piddled around the beach area at Corpus for
awhile, then headed to Los Fresnos to kick Dusty's ass at the Hog Pit
Saloon. Didn't find Dusty so we headed on into Brownsville for a room and
meal. After food we took State Road 4 out of Brownsville to the point where
the road ends at the G.o.M.. Beautiful drive, and the winds gave us a
viewing reward with white topped waves at the beach.
Saturday we headed toward Laredo, following the Rio Grande River as closely
as we could along the way. We had 90° Saturday afternoon at Roma, Tx. Very
interesting ride with all the small towns and weekend goings on.
We chose not to spend the night in Laredo, but to find a place more close to
Fort Worth so as not to have too long a ride for the return on Sunday. The
town of George West was it. There is absolutely nothing between Laredo and
George West. Next day (Sunday) we headed to Fort Worth, cutting through San
    Antonio
to look at the Alamo. What a line of people still trying to get in! After
Alamoaning we took in part of the Hill Country on the route back to cowtown.
Return trip was chilly with the North winds and rain in a spot or two,
overall, middle of February in Texas - alright!

  2. You and the Sheriff had quite a trip and went everywhere, Mexico, San
Diego, San Francisco... wow! And lots of road signs. I've never seen
a road go off into the ocean like that. At first I thought it was a
    boat ramp. hehe

I guess y'all didn't spend the night in San Antonio. If you had and
would have let me know, I could have told you where to go see my son-
    in-law and his band.

Thanks for putting the pics all in one place, slide-show no less!
Sure saved a whole heap of clicking the mouse button. ;^)

Yes, I was surprised. I sort of lost focus, and when I snapped to, I was
    coming up on San Diego.

I was thinking of spending the night in San Antonio but George West wasn't
    something to miss.

With just our wives + No argument? Send me that route.

Yes, either way, solo or w/Ed is enjoyable, however solo is a different ride
    altogether.

  7. Any route I take. About the only argument is over stopping. I hate
    stopping.
Joe and I enjoyed riding with y'all before. It was a short ride
    though.

When it's just me and Joe on our bikes,
we only stop for gas, running hard and fast.
No time to sit and chat, 'cause where we were,
ain't where we wanna be at.

    Or how about Haiku:

    Love my Cobra pipes,
    Open throttle, hear them roar!
    That makes me feel fine.

====well, we like to stop, that is probably the main reason, we enjoy
riding alone. We like touring zigzag style, thru little Texas Towns.
Talking pictures of the Odd Named little Towns here and there. We like
slowing down in some of those Towns, and pittle around, find an'old
General Store....We like to ride, but we like to look...at stuff.
    Depends of course......MrJayT=
