I'm orf to the USA tomorrow morning with my son on the pretext of a
business partner's wedding in Atlanta. Already have the waterpark etc
lined up with him but my other partner's parents live in Huntsville. Her
Dad is an ex Nasa electrical engineer and is suggesting an overnight
trip to the Space and Rocket centre. Has anyone been there, opinions?
    suitable for a 6 y/o?

Went years ago. If your in the area it'd be a crime not to do it. 6
y/o should be fine as long as he doesn't try and tea-leaf too much out
    with him.

I stayed in the hotel (Marriot iirc) next door a couple of years ago. Looked
out of my window in the morning (having arrived in darkness the previous
night) and saw a real Saturn V rocket right >there<!
And guess what's in the carpark outside? An SR71 Blackbird, that's what. My
ultimate aircraft of all time, and you can walk up and touch it. The
titanium skin 'sucks' the heat out of your fingers.
The exhibits are amazing. Have a look at:
    http://www.spacecamp.com/forms/04_museum_brochure.pdf
    Definitely a 'must visit' place.

Yes, he'll like the rocket garden and they have other stuff for the
    kiddies.

  9. Yes, it's excellent. There are adult and child oriented resources. And Cool
Big Rockets to go touch and play with. Chum of mine used to run NASA's
educational outreach programme there. I loved it.

  10. That would be ideal. The kid can tealeaf as much as he likes and nobody
will do anything but take it back - he's only a kid, after all.

  14. Hell, I was. Saw the lift off on a fuzzy black and white TV in Italy. Got
home in time to stay up all night and watch the Eagle land. I wanted to be
an astronaut so badly. Still do!

  16. I was utterly pissed off at the lack of coverage for subsequent moon
flights - the boneheads got bored with it, so everybody who was
interested had to suffer. If only t'internet existed then, it would have
    been different.

I presumed it would be something like that.
I can understand being omniverous. I can't understand going off the
    physical side of women.

  19. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, wessie
He's... ummm... err... How to put this?

    <lightbulb>

He's really not tall enough, and he'd never get the accent right.

These (amongst other) reasons mean that this would be a terrible piece
    of mis-casting.
