    For sale!

One CX500B. 35000 miles, two owners, all MOTs, heated grips, topbox.

New (to it!) swingarm, swingarm bearings, headbearings, fork bushes
and seals and rear shocks. Seat is original with no tears etc.

Lives outside and loves it, so not what you'd call "concourse".
Selling because I no longer commute into London. Bike is in High
    Wycombe.

    Sensible offers via e-mail please!

    Ta,

Don't blame you! Suppose I'll stick it on eBay and see what
happens.... If only I had a larger garage or the missus thought that
rusty old crap bikes were garden ornaments - I'd keep it.

They are a little top heavy, but it always seemed to be better than my
VFR800 in the winter because the tyres actually warmed up, even when
it was sleeting. Mind you - it can get into a wicked weave if you fill
the top box up with heavy stuff and exceed about 75MPH.... Never seems
to get into a tank slapper, just the weave, but it was a little
disconcerting on the M40 every day!

I really like 'em! Comfy, reliable, torquey, crash resistant, good on
fuel and they lift up their skirts and go OK if you rev them a bit.
This is my second - the first went over 320000 miles before I sold it
(still running). The secret is: Don't thrash them, ever. The valve
stems stretch and snap after about 75000 - 100000 miles if you rev the
tits off them. Oh - and change the oil as often as your underpants.

I no longer have a use for it, I have three other bikes and no spare
storage space, so its got to go.

Having said that, a dispatch mate of mine hired three in one week
about a dozen years ago. First one got him to a petrol station about
300 yards down the road. He filled up, pressed the starter button and
a rod popped out of the crankcase. Previous hirer had drained the oil,
forgotton to replace it and a piston had seized BDC when he shut it
    off.

Second one did half a bank run round Bucks before dropping an exhaust
valve. They'll do 40MPH on one cylinder if you really thrash them.
Unfortunately really thrashing it mean another valve on the other
cylinder broke about 15 miles later.

The third one started off fine on a run down to Bristol. About half
way there the stator failed, again limiting him to about 40MPH. Which
    made the M4 interesting.

He hates them. With true, unwavering passion. A vein stands up on his
forehead if he even hears one. I used to take great delight in
turning up on mine (especially the old one that had gone round the
clock three times) and asking if he wanted a go.....

Some people have the mechanical sympathy of a headless chicken on
acid. He could probably break an anvil.

Yup! Wrote off three cars in three years with my first one. And broke
some idiots arm through his drivers door. Mind you - the brakes aren't
    what you'd call terrific....
