I just received an e-mail purporting to be from Champ.

And I might have believed it (for a nano-second) if it weren't for the fact
that the subject line was just a load of gibberish...

Oh. Hold on. Maybe I've just deleted a real e-mail... :)

  2. In uk.rec.motorcycles, WavyDavy belched forth and ejected the following:
I just received one from myself!

The header and subject was my email/ username but the body contained
    three numbers "967"

That was it. Nothing else. nada.

    Strange indeed.

    to forthwith.

Whinging Courier came up with the following;:
Mine purported to also come from me with a subject of 455 and body with 969.

    I wonder if it's a coded conspiracy?

Dunno but my subject line was 1545453 so mine is bigger than yours,

I just received 57657 in the subject line but the body said simply 5556.

    It must mean _something_ ?

I had about 50 of them yesterday, with about 3 different numbers in the body
    texts.

I appear to have one too.

Unfortunately it's in some form of Arabic / Cyrillic script

Which one then, as Arabic and Cyrillic are nowhere near alike.

So, not Cyrillic then, but could be Arabic. Or Urdu. Or Thai. etc.

When I see the std 'bunch of squiggles' all it means to me is that I don't
have the right font to see what they should *actually* look like. So it
could be Cyrillic if he hasn't got the font to decode it....

  17. Err - no. In that case he would see the ascii single-character
equivalent of the double-byte character set.. which may or may not
    include various accented characters.
