Someone posted a link to an online specs supplier , but either I or
    google
groups search seems to be shite.
Anyone got the link and are they any good for varifocals?

  2. What is it with you bloody cheapskates? I bought a pair of expensive
bendy framed gasses over a dozen years ago, still got them and will have
for a long time and overall for a lot less money than you lot could ever
conceive of saving with your on line pikey deals.

**** you all I am going to bed.

Don't know about varifocals, I'm not old enough for that kind of shit.

Presumably your prescription hasn't changed since then?

Well, there's this place, local to me in Watford

    http://www.glassesonspec.co.uk/

I'm wearing my bendy metal scratch resistant, photochromic varifocals
    which cost about £100 now

I could have paid three times the price as some old farts, but I'd
rather have the money in my pocket

I ordered reading glasses from them after Steve's recommendation. There's a
post from a couple of days ago saying they arrived and are fine. Same
quality as the last pair of glasses I got from a local outfit for 4 times
the price. I ordered 2 pairs for £28 delivered. Despatched within 48 hours,
took another 10 days to get from Hong Kong.

  7. I looked at them but their requirements didn't make much sense against
my prescription. I only need +1.25 near for reading but couldn't work
out where it should go. I'm mainly sticking with Asda Readers at a
fiver until I need something special.

the printout of my Specsavers 'scrip fitted their pro forma and they
seem to work very well for hand held media. Stuff on a screen is okay
without although a but fuzzier than with. My left & right eyes are
different & there's astigmatism to take account of, so off the shelf
    reading glasses aren't ideal.

  9. New fairy vocal lenses every 3 or 4 years from whoever is doing 1 hour
    turn round and a sale.

The bendy frames are fabulous, never and I do mean never have I had to
adjust them or anything in all the time I have had them.

Brilliant frames too. I've still got mine which I bought (fucking cant
remember, but) about 10 years or so. I've had three sets of lenses in over
that time and Im due another set soon. 40 quid for vari's.
