AFAIK, any Road, Street, Crescent, Avenue, Way, Close or Place meets SF's criteria.

  2. IoM, as has been mentioned, for a start. Then, within the British Isles,
you have various closed public road events in the North and South of
    Ireland.

He is talking about the Isle of Man again, but he was more careful,,
and didn't say "UK", which would have been wrong.

    Rubbish.

It is utterly impossible to carry on a meaningful dialogue without
    making assumptions.

It's impossible for you to attempt to make conversation without making
assumptions, it is true. But don't assume that everyone else suffers
    from your particular limitations.

How about bringinging back front numberplates for motorcycles? (and they
must be forward-facing, not sideways on).

No it wouldn't - it can be perfectly legal to drive at those speeds
anywhere in the UK or the British Isles. Depends who you are, and why,
    though.

    I don't.

But that, of course, is not "one of my particular limitations".

That is just a fact of conversation.

They even have a quick thrash around the park in Scarborough so local
residents need to take care when walking their dogs.

So you're advocating bringing back something that was proven to be a
danger to both riders and pedestrians?

How do you feel about fitting nice sharp blades to the front of cars
so car drivers can pretend they're Roman charioteers and not feel
    left out of the fun?

    Andy Bonwick, Mar 12, 2006
  13. Didn't know that - please can you point me at the research with
particular regard to forward-facing rather than sideways on.

  15. Sorry have I upset you? How was that?

I'll take that as a "don't know of any personally" then.

Not public roads when events are on.

I doubt it. Some research has shown that on average people drive more
_slowly_ when they cannot see their speedo.

Ah, but are they *dangerous* roads when events are on?

(Bringing back fond memories of watching sideways Group B Quattros spitting
flame through the camel enclosure at Bewdley Safari Park...while trying to
    avoid standing in rhino poo..)

Some research has also shown that people drive more safely if speed limits
are removed and replaced with officials on the lookout for dangerous driving
    only, regardless of speed.

But curiously that option gets ignored...
