Serious food poising can take hold in 4-6 hours but if that happens
you're going to be very ill.

  5. What you see is not alue as it was. It is no longer frequented by
regulars and it is effectively an empty group.

There are at least two people in UKRM who've been subscribed for
    knocking on 10 years.

The original members (refugees from a demon local flame war) have
scattered to other groups and RL. I keep it in the folders for
sentimental reasons and to catch up on news from an Australian poster
who sticks her head round the door now and then.

That just went straight through my newsreader and all over my desk.

  7. Can I join you in the "notoriously dim" [1] club then? I think I have
worked out who wip is but I have not got a clue about lushhead or
    veritable rosbif.

[1] sounds like a really stupid for a rap artist.

I think you saw the clue and asked what it meant but didn't get a reply

  9. Weeeeell, Véritable Rosbif was originally just a bit of a gentle game when
the "Genuine Froggie" went off in [checks] February to do his exams and
threatened/promised not to post for a few weeks. I thought it would be fun
to have this fully-fledged reciprocal firmly in place, as an accepted
regular, when he came back. Of course, he couldn't stop lurking and
couldn't stop posting so it all fell a bit flat a bit quick. Then the
personality took over. Then the joke turned back on itself when some folks
thought Véritable was Genuine was Des. We were probably both offended by
    that one! Fortunately one or two regulars were able to provide my alibi;
    thanks, chaps.

It still doesn't explain to the more dense amongst us, who you are really...
I'm intrigued, even if anyone else isn't, so feel free to email me if you
like - the address in the headers is valid.

    Me neither.

VR's story about the friends with two dishwashers (last week) I had
heard before here, but can't remember who from.

  14. Sounds to me just like how Sennapods/Sennacot work. Istbc, but the likes
of that is a bowel irritant and the body expels it asap, along with
    anything else.

It's complete cobblers, or perhaps it's just the context you've read
into it. Normal foot transit is about 8 hours, IIRC.

As for food poisining/shits, well I know that when I'm seriously
shitty the transit time can be down to an hour or less.

But the article, or at least the bit you're quoting, is talking about
'undigested' food, so I'm guessing that it means that a proportion,
possibly a small one, of what we eat may stick around for a while, not
    that all of it does.

It isn't Mick, nor is it anyone who currently posts here, ie it's not,
    if you'll pardon the expression, a frogery.[/QUOTE]

I wasn't trying to imply that Mick was VR; more that it was just
probably Mick that Blaney was thinking of.

I don't know who VR is, but if I had to guess, it'd be someone like Sir
Chewburry Gubbins, come back to haunt us.

Or Bill Mac. Or...why does VR come across (to me) as a porridge-wog?
