    Speed Trap update date

Roddrick Avenue, 30 yards before Annexe Brighton
    Speed Limit: 30
Every body speeds down the road and the other day when i went there some
one nearly got knocked of there bike and the car carried on going.

    M4 Reading
    Speed Limit: 70
New electronic signs on the M4 were switched on Tuesday 21 October. The
bad news is that they are rigged with the SPECS speed cameras. SPECS is
a computer-camera based system. As you go past the sign a digital camera
reads your number plate. When you go past the next sign your number
plate is read again. The computer 'knows' how far apart the signs are so
it can work out your average speed between the two, or three or four.
The system is fully automatic and will issue a ticket without any form
of human intervention. It does this for every single vehicle that
passes. You will not know you've been caught, as the cameras don't
flash. They work 24/7, 365 days a year, and theoretically, there's
absolutely no limit on the number of tickets that the system can issue.
The whole section of the M4 between Theale (J12) and Membury Services
(between J14 and J15) is wired, both ways. The system is set to trigger
a ticket at 78 mph. Radar detectors will be of no use as SPECS is
entirely passive, there is no radar or laser beam to detect."

    Mile End Road Norwich
    Speed Limit: 30
A new camera has been set up a few metres east of the junction of Mile

as if this is designed to catch speeding traffic traveling towards the

    A1005 Botany Bay Enfield
    Speed Limit: 30
The camera faces southbound on the A1005 and is definitely active (as of
28 October 2003) It still remains secluded by roadside hedgerow and
trees. Bizarrely, I have also seen it flash when vehicles pass
(overtake) the white road markings driving INTO the camera (i.e.
    Northbound). Beware!!!!

Tong Road 1 Each side of Road 50 yards up from the Beech Pub Leeds
    Speed Limit: 30
Two new Fixed Gatsos on Tong Road about 50 yards up from the Beech Pub
one new rear facing another 100 yards up the road

This is bollocks, zaax. Untrue, inaccurate bollocks.

    Check here: www.abd.org.uk

Thanks for the rest of the update, though. You're doing a fine job.

zaax <> somehow managed to post:

    <snip>

There's a whole series of them on the A46 but they go further south
than you suggest. There's posts gone up as far south as Cotgrave (~ 8
    miles south of the A52).
