A FOF on 9 points who received a 6 week or so ban for speeding got his
licence back sans points with just the ban.

We're talking about the DVLA. He was lucky to get his licence back with
the entitlement on it, let alone the points.

    I got a FPN for 112mph.

I also got a fucking six week ban and £210 fine for 98mph.

No - I'd rather have the ban than 9 points. As long as the code is SP30
it doesn't seem to affect the insurance too much.

A totting up ban makes insurance insurance shit.

It's not too bad - IIRC, my Carole Nash multibike (not classic) policy
went up by £50 on renewal following my ban - how much of that was
inflation and how much was the ban I don't know.

Heh, I had one of those, late at night on the boring bit of the M6
between the M1 and B'Ham. I was doing a smidge less than that though,
85-ish. I was so far on autopilot, I didn't even notice them coming
alongside, to make a hand gesture to me.

    I'm a bit more observant nowadays ... :-o

I was pootling away from Liverpool last night on the M62 doing about
85 when someone flew past me. seconds later something else flew past
me. then it put bloo lights on and tugged them.

    I breathed a sigh or relief :)
