    Yes. It was inevitable.

    Cox's Corollary to Murphy's Law;

'Any vehicle purchased or repainted or both will sustain damage within
the first three months after said purchase or repaint or both.'

I hope Angie doesn't see this, otherwise she'll want one of them.

  5. Heh. Third batch of results on that page - a thread by the title of "6
    days with an R1"...

On the one hand, Betty's adherence to the corollary was a lot cheaper
than mine, but hers would've had little of the style and none of the
sparks of my 80m slide down the M4 and into an armco upright... and
she didn't get taken out by a Corolla, either.

No.... no sparks, no sliding (just a lot of very bad words and some crunchy
noises) - yours sounds FAR more spectacular, and you can have that one all
    to yourself!!! YUK!!!!

Gosh, do they? (See, despite the wee drop of Scottish blood, I'm still a
bloody Sassenach, hee hee). My mother used to alternate between using
'trews' and 'trousies' when we were kids - I thought the terms were
    interchangeable...

2 months, 2 days at the time of the, erm, incident. Yep, fits the effing
corollary all right. Oh well, that's out of the way then. Onwards and
    upwards!

No no; nothing new Johno (thank keerist!)
This is just the damage from the vehicle inspection mob dropping it...
(repair and complete fairing repaint required apparently!)

It's OK Betty, it was just such a Scottish word that it surprised me
    seeing it used here.

Actually, it _is_ a possible solution to the question I have asked for
years, "How do you ride a motorcycle in a ladylike manner, while wearing
    a kilt?"

Even Valentino Rossi wouldn't be gallous enough to wear tartan trews!

maybe the big fellow is giving you a message like "act your age and buy a
    car"

its funny but I had a dream ( dry one at that ) last night and it involved a
bike, a corner and speed ....... 3 times I tried and three times I went
    down

So maybe he is giving me a message as well
