Head of CHP, Spike Helmut was on Ronn Owens again. He and Ronn both
expressed disaproval of lane splitting and Spike said he will be going to
the legislature to propose legislation against it. His only real reasoning
was that it scares some drivers who will swerve. Later, he also held up an
example of 80 riders on the freeeway in Sacramento who were popping wheelies
and running in and out of traffic. He said environmental groups have lobbied
against prohibitions. Once he mentioned it doesn't appear safe.
All in all, very unsound reasoning. There was no discussion about DATA or
    safety statistics.
It occurred to me that the problem may be the lack of a law allowing it. By
creating such a law, they could attach specific rules about when it is
    allowed.
Truly a short sighted look by this man.

Time to replace Spike with a man of integrity.

Do you thing Governor Ah-nold could convince Bernie Parks
    to take the job?
