  1. What happened to the three Aussies who had been on board a yacht, found
    drfiting crew-less:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7550836.stm

"A coroner in Queensland has ruled that the men lost their lives in a
freak accident and suggested they drowned in an unfortunate sequence of
    events.

It started when one of the men fell in the water while trying to
retrieve some fishing equipment that had become tangled around the
    rudder.

Another sailor was lost overboard while trying to mount a rescue.

The coroner found that the third man, the skipper, tried to turn the
boat around by adjusting the sails, but a change in wind direction
caused the boom to swing round and knock him into the choppy seas. "

As amusing as it is... it's apparently nothing but the Coroner's
guess. Still in their 60s so a bunch of Auvaches.

    <snip Aussie coroner on drugs>

Empty boat, no evidence... Surely that would be an open verdict?

    for a beer"

Ah yeah, right mate. It was all going great until some great galah
shouted "Hey Bruce! Jump into the water!".

They mentioned there was a meal laid out, but they didn't mention the
beer surely an omission of significance?

So maybe the crate of tinnies got dropped over the side and they were
    drowned trying to retrieve it?

    Spooky.

I went shopping on Friday and can confirm that Zoe and I apparently
have *exactly* the same problem. We also read the same website.

I thought I'd upgrade after my trusty old warhorse recently expired.
Big mistake. I'm going back to simple and preferably a *whole* fucking
    lot quieter.

  17. IIRC, the story I read said they were planning to take two months
to sail around to West Australia -- but had only shipped three slabs
    of tinnies. Bloody lightweights!
