Spoked wheel repair needed

As some of you will know, one of my front wheel spokes decided to leave
home, while I was trundling through Cambrai, last Friday.

The MOT is due soon, so I need to get it replaced fairly quickly.
Cheap is good, as I've decided to get rid, too.

Anyone know of anywhere within 20 or 30 miles of Manchester?

Go to the bottom of the page, they appear to do spoke repairs and are
local to me, which means if you are stuck for time to take the wheel
there and collect again I can do it for you.

Ta - I'm off till the end of the month, so I'll see about arranging a time
when I can take the bike over, as I don't have the means to remove the
    wheel myself...

Replacing a spoke should only take about ten minutes. Unless you did a
lot of jumping up kerbs and stuff it's very unlikely that the wheel's
come out of true, and quite easy to check.

Of course, you'll need to get the tyre off and on to replace it, but
other than that it should be a doddle.

I can't see why it's hilarious either as it's not rebuilding the wheel
just replacing a broken spoke. Which with the tyre off should only be,
as you say, a ten minute job.

Of course, it might take a bit longer if you want to make sure it's
    well screwed together.

Well, if the wheel's already out.
And the tyre has been removed.
And the new spoke has been cut to length and deburred.

Then ten minutes to tension and check the wheel for true.

    It'll want rebalancing too...

Like what I said in the bits you snipped, yeah.
Eh? Naah, that's included in the ten minutes. About one, or two at the
    outside.
Which is a normal part of refitting the tyre anyway.
