I'm pretty sure he means Young rather than Wark.

I found it hard to take it at all serious after I heard McNulty and
    Stringer Bells' real life accents.

    that's what I though.

But series one of The Wire does contain the hilarious (to me) line
"Did you really just call the mother of your children a '****'?"

  7. Quite. I just ignore it, along with Comic Relief and every other thing
that involves unfunny people trying to prove the opposite, unworthy
people trying to do likewise, and people who are just twonks anyway.

we watched a dodgy blueray download of "The Hangover" followed by some
Armando Iannunci stuff - much better.

The only part of sport relief that I have any time for (and partly
because i didn't actually realise it was part of sport relief) was the
previously shown stuff of Eddie Izzard running over a thousand miles
(a marathon a day nearly every day for a month and a half of
something) after something as little as two week's training. that's
properly stupid, and hence worthy of a little respect.

  12. I am full of admiration and downright astonishment at that. Rather
    humbling really.

And... speaking of humbling, I ran my local half marathon a couple of
weeks back. I've been running quite hard in training for this since
    about November.

My younger brother (43) decided to do the same half marathon about 6
weeks before it. He hadn't ran any distance since 2004 (when he managed
it in 1:44). He damaged his back at work and as a consequence only
managed 9 training runs with the longest being 7miles.

On the day... he's not run for two weeks, turns up wearing the trainers
he used in 2004 etc... and proceeds to do it in 1:47:06. Beating me by
    2 minutes and 1 second.

Still... happy enough with my time.

  13. I hope 'out of shot' means he's not within the camera's view because the
alternative is more like a nightmare than a dream.

the hilarious bit was, because he was having to eat >3000 calories a
day, he got *massive* calves, but remained a fat git at the end.

    good on that pseudo-trannie[1].

[1] has anyone actually seen Eddie in a frock in the last 5
    years......

after taking it easy for a few weeks a bottle of 14% ABV Malbec seems
    capable of inducing irrationality

  18. Oh, that reminds me. I've had Series 3 on disc for a year, unwatched.
Due to scheduling ****-ups I missed it entirely.

would it help if I changed "having" to "enjoying" and putting in an
"at least" before the the ">"
    ?
