OK, so what's the secret for getting the sodding things off of a perspex
    screen?

(Before some bright spark suggest an angle grinder, I've already
considered that as an option, along with a hammer and chisel)

    TIA

  2. Lakeland make an excellent cleaning spray for that very purpose.

On my helmet and visor I use a sheet of wet kitchen towel laid over the
affected area. Leave it half an hour or so and the flies soak off.

Can't see why that method - with a few more sheets - shouldn't work.

OK, ta. I'll try that - if it fails I'll try Ali's Lakeland stuff.

    Thanks both.

I left the bike too long without cleaning the damned things off, now
    they've set like glue.

Soak a towel in hot water & drape it over the screen for half an hour.

i think this might be in the FFAQ, but if not, the method I use is:

spray the screen with a detergent solution, and then press a bunch of
kitchen towel paper all over the screen. Make sure it's soaked
through, spray some more detergent on if necessary.

Leave it for about 30 minutes, and then just bunch up the kitchen
towel, and wipe it around - most of the bugs will come off, and the
rest with a bit of elbow-grease and a wet rag.

Half a pint of Rain, a single drop of Fairy Liquid, a chamois leather
    and a little elbow grease.

If, however, you don't live in the Frozen norf you will almost certainly
not have the patience to wait for natures gift of free water and so you
may have little choice but to use the stuff out of the standpipe.

Wet J-cloth draped over the screen for ten minutes, then they should just
    wipe off

    TFR (Traffic Film Remover)

Spray on, leave for a couple of minutes, wipe off. Or... soak a towel in
water, drape it over the screen and leave it for an hour or so. remove towel
and flies in one easy move.

Or a bucket of water, some car shampoo & a sponge - low tech but
effective (worked OK for me removing the remains of the french run
flies, of which there were quite a few even given my generally sedate
    rate of progress).
