For some reason bike wont turn over ?!

I started it fine, rode it out the front of my house, washed it (used a
bucket - only used the hose for a quick spray down at the end). Tried to
start it up and the starter worked but bike wouldn't kick over. Tried with
choke and tried roll start but nothing.

One time it after a roll start it did catch but revved very low and then
died.. Yes it has petrol and it is turned to On (also tried reserve)..

    Any ideas ?

  2. Wet electrics maybe?

Try spraying the spark plug leads with wd40 - the high tension side of
the ignition system is particularly susecptible to moisture...

I had a problem with the Spada once which turned out to be some red
bulldust (from a trip 6 months earlier) in the connector that the
ignition pickups plugged into the black box - it seems once the bulldust
got wet, it was conductive enough to make it run _really_ badly...

Water in the carbs. (if you have carbs) Drain the carbs, take out the
main-jets and blow through them. Corrosion in a connector. Try taking the
plug-caps off and wipe them, and the plug insulators, clean.

Do not try to jump-start it from a car! :)

Why not Theo? I used to jump my old 650 Kat from the workven all the time,
That's until I got a new battery for it.

Agree, and charge the battery overnight before you try it again. You'll end
    up killing the battery.

Corrosion in a connector. Try taking
note smile after jump start statement...i think indicating that you should
not attempt to countersteer a shaftie :)
i'd reckon wet electrics...more likely than water in airbox / carb etc

Naah; just tow it behind your mates car up to 50 or so then jam it inta'
    first and hang on!!
Keep revving the crap outta' it and it'll eventually dry out and run on all
    four.

Thanks to all. I got it started again :)

Tried a few more starts and it didn't work and battery was almost dead so
jump started it from a car and after a few attempts, it turned over and now
    seems relatively happy.
