    Hi

I haven't used my bike for a while and the battery's gone flat, so I
bought a trickle charger and charged it back up. After I'd reconnected
it back on the bike it still doesn't start, the bike just's makes a
whirring noise. Do you think the battery's knackered or can it be
    something else?

    TIA
    Steve

    What bike?

How long since you last used it?

Try jump leads for more umph.

Is there any fuel in the carbs?

Is the fuel in the tank *really* old?

    It's a Honda CB500S, I haven't used it for 15 months, I don't have
anything to jump it from and the fuel has been in there between a
    15/18 months
