Lozzo posted: Don't want to be accused of spamming, as it's still my employer, but there's a recent Nitro helmet in fibreglass that (as far as it means anything) is a SHARP 5-star rated lid, and costs about £120. N1700-VF or N1710-VF, I'll be wearing something similar this weekend. This is intended for information purposes only, your head is your business and I'm not on commission or anything. Thought it would be something like that. I would think that Chinese manufacturers go to great lengths to comply with customers' requirements and end-market regulations, and don't ever cut corners just to save a few fen.
I picked up my nice new Chaser last night, and very nice it is too in a satin finish dark grey colour. Huzzah! Plus, the old visors from my Quantum F definitely fit - double huzzah! So when did the little grey arms in the side-pods appear then? The Quantum F doesn't have them, but then it is 9 or 10 years old.
Good point. But that doesn't stop the French (or any, for that matter) government from adding bits. A bike may be certified as CE but it doesn't stop the government from imposing a 106BHP limit on top, for example. ICBW.
Yeah. What was wrong with the old "twist and pull" method? It just seems to me something else I could potentially break off. Still, as I left HG having picked the lid up, the bloke said to me: "Don't forget to bring it back every six months for a free service". Which was nice. Mine was bought not long (<1 year) after I got the 9R, which was in Feb 98.
ECER 22-05 to be precise. -- Lozzo Versys 650 Tourer Fireblade 929 (For sale) CBR600F-W trackbike SR250 SpazzTrakka, SR250 wivva topbox TS250C RD400F, somewhere I see a bright new future, where chickens can cross the road with no fear of having their motives questioned
I've got a Chaser in that colour too, it's my trackday helmet. My everyday road helmet is a black Condor -- Lozzo Versys 650 Tourer Fireblade 929 (For sale) CBR600F-W trackbike SR250 SpazzTrakka, SR250 wivva topbox TS250C RD400F, somewhere I see a bright new future, where chickens can cross the road with no fear of having their motives questioned
About 100 quid ) I think the Chaser, which is the more expensive, has better venting and removable cheek pads, etc. The Condor appears to no longer be on the Arai website, so maybe it has been discontinued.
Damn right it's tough. I had to remove the one on the chin when I dropped the lid (as the sticker got scratched). It was a fucking nightmare to remove. I've not bothered trying to remove the side and rear stickers. If the pound stays at the same level, I may pick up a UK lid on my next trip to the UK. What are Shoei's going for nowadays?
Errr...dunno. May I refer Sir to http://www.araihelmet-europe.com/php2/eng/index.php?page=fullface ? Buggre.
The Chaser is a slightly different style and has better venting. I'm tld it has a different fit, but both fit me perfectly for some reason, even if they don't fit others in the same way.
I forgot about the cheekpads being removeable.
The lack of a removeable lining has neevr been a bother for me. I wash my lids in the bath with baby shampoo and let them air dry in the airing cupboard - only takes a day or so and they're nice and fresh again.
Yeah - I'm always soundly amused when the Velcro on my glove strap proves more effective that the Velcro Uvex use to retain the upper padding.
What I want to know is why the velcro on my gloves won't stick to my gloves but clings like **** to everything else.
Sounds like a classic case of playing hooky with an associated attachment disorder. You need to sort that before it takes control of your Smith & Wesson and decides to re-engage with education.
