Yeah I figured he might've pre-dated you BVR but I was going for that extra
degree of Zen purity by making a pun based on a contributor who was
    notorious for relentless punning!
(And Shaw Goh was the only other Asian aus.motian I could think of and he's
    gone now too!)
    Cheers .... Clem

ausmoto standards.... at least I have a T-shirt... and a legitimate
excuse for not going to wintersun this year :p

  7. Was that "Foo" who rode the Mito? If so, he's in London now, I got mail
last week from an old friend from Melbourne who moved to London a few
years back saying "Btw apparently you used to be on aus moto at the same
time as my friend Foo - this orkut thing is scary!"...

Its a small world sometimes (until you try to walk around it...)

Ahhh....what I meant was Dejanews (and yes I know that's been dead for quite some time). That was
how Sam was communicating when access and firewalls allowed.

Deja got taken over by Google lo these many years past ('99-2000ish) I
had a dejanews account which google still honour, although the email
address attached to it is deceased (or if it isn't i've no idea how to
    get the mail anyways)

Shaw Goh had a Mito but he's currently in Perth (he posts stuff on aus.dvd
    occasionally).
    I can remember Foo's 600 Bandit (named "Foolan" after Geoff-san's 1200
"Doolan"), before that I think he had a CB250 or somesuch that copped a bit
    of a hiding.
Last post I see on google is 31/10/2002 on a crosspost from aus.cars.

Neither is Canberra, when you get right down to it. ;-)

I was actually thinking of something more like that scene from "Pale
Rider" where Pa Conway finds hisself a honkin' big nugget in the
stream, and shouts to his sons "Harness up the mules boys, we're goin'
    to *TOWN*!"

("Town" being a cluster of about 4 buildings in the middle of
    nowhere).
