It's happened to me a couple of times since I gave up - bloody stupid really but it just goes to show that the temptation / craving is always there. The other really obvious thing is some traumatic event where you suddenly need "a crutch" and it's so easy to fall back "on old friends". [/QUOTE] I stopped smoking for 7 years and then gradually started again when I was away on holiday climbing in the Alps. The combination of cheap smokes and friends who all smoked did for me. I'm fine working in an environment where I can't smoke but when I'm in a pub I want to smoke and when I'm stuck on a motorway in a traffic jam the first thing I reach for is the cigarettes. I suppose I'm lucky in that I smoke about 10 roll ups each day and with Adie not smoking I don't smoke in the house when I'm home so if we don't go out that drops to about 5 a day but I don't have the out and out willpower to jack it in completely. The smoking ban in pubs might influence things next year...
