It's a French thing, IIRC I started again about 5 minutes after we
    arrived at the hotel.

Few give up. The gap between just gets longer.

But do you need to smoke to do this stuff, or could your mates join you
    in a non-smoking environment?
A number of examples; dropped ciggies into the crutch and ensuing
panic, smoke in the eyes, ash stains on clothes, burnt and stained
fingers, ash dropping into food or beer, panic when realising nearly
out of ciggies, people trying to look sophistcated with cig in hand and
then go into a coughing bout etc.
The dental hygiene helped me to keep a clean fresh mouth that I did not
want to spoil with ciggies. Only lasted for a month though, after that
I no longer needed the regime.

Does that not imply that you may go back to smoking at some time, if so
then are you building in a failure clause.
Perhaps I have described myself as anti-smoking rather than an
anti-smoker. I agree that those who continually go on and preach about
being non-smokers are cunts. There is no need for that approach, maybe
these work colleagues are not yet comfortable with being non-smokers.

I look forward to England joining Ireland, Scotland and New Zealand in
stopping smoking in public places. Smoking in private spaces not a
problem. I will avoid places where people smoke, pubs etc if possible
    rather than preach.

But hey I'm a twat, cos Bear says so. So don't believe anything I have
to say, unless it seems to make sense.

In fairness I was on the GTS which isn't slow, and we were on roads I
    know.

And I was showing off. :^)

Not even a really fast bike could pass a P38. Well maybe if it was parked.

"If you want to be my friends you'll all have to stop smoking."
You must be from the North. I've never seen Southerners have any such
    problems.
I'm not worried about it. I don't like closing doors completely.
