Indeed, although I'd like to add that it's cars which sometimes cause bikes to stop _rather_ quickly. I'm not even going to think about Smart car VS Wing.
I don't wish to test my own hypothesis, but I reckon a Wing'd go right through a Smart car. -- | ___ Salad Dodger |/ \ _/_____\_ GL1500SEV/CBR1100XXX/KH500A8/TS250C |_\_____/_| ..73063../..16931.../..3180./.19406 (>|_|_|<) TPPFATUICG#7 DIAABTCOD#9 YTC#4 PM#5 |__|_|__| BOTAFOT #70 BOTAFOF #09 two#11 WG* \ |^| / IbW#0 & KotIbW# BotTOS#6 GP#4 \|^|/ ANORAK#17 IbB#4 '^'

If you Google you'll find we had a short discussion about this in August. Had a few driving lessons with a Police instructor last year, who was also an ex-police motorcycle instructor. He said that bikes have more efficient brakes than a car but in reality cars stop quicker than bikes as the rider has to get the balance between rear and front brake perfect whereas the car driver just stomps on one pedal.
Not the URC peeps. See the thread about hard saddles and numb bits. Anyway, everyone knows that a Ford Cortina on crossplies has the shortest stopping distance.
Too right. And if you get that balance wrong... http://motorky.unas.cz/win/MIRA/Obr/Bike/stoppies/stoppie_ruka.jpg
I've seen a parked Harley and Wing fall over towards each over due to mutual gravitational attraction.
