street-fightering

  1. Thanks for your offer but as Dan mentioned my Rat got stolen. I was just
pointing out that if I wanted to hide some wiring I'd use the stuff you
mentioned (or something similar you can get in garden centres and other
places to tidy my wiring because I thought Ben was making a reference to
how darsy would hide his wiring if he wanted to go ahead with his
    streetfighter project.

Thanks for the offer though, I'llbear it in mind. I still have to come
    your way for a beer.

  2. Bad form....

I can't see the confusion myself but as I was saying to Dave, I was
talking about what I'd do if I wanted to do the wiring on my bike but
never did because I wouldn't bother but you're right, my rat did get
stolen. Poor bastards, I pity them.

I'm being thick - what do you mean by this?
    OK, thanks for the tips.

someone's still being thick. What does the green hose colour match
    with?

The bike is black and silver.

The green hose will colour match with the bodywork once you've had it
    sprayed the right colour.

I know, and I recognise that green is the "natural" colour for Kwaks.

However, indulgent as she is in all other areas of my vehicle
ownership, A. has banned me from having a green bike, because,
apparantly, they're "unlucky". Green cars, are "OK", apparantly, but
    only if they are British.

I would like to say that in all other areas she's a perfectly rational
person, but it'd be a filthy lie.

If she sees a magpie, she has to say "good day to you sir!". Not if
there's two or more, she doesn't need to say anything, but if there's
just one magpie, she has to say it.

Oh, and if she glances at a digital watch or clock and the number of
minutes displayed is 13, she can't look away until it's changed to 14.

    I could go on...

    apparently it's relatively common.
    exactly - it's a disorder that she's actually invented.
    that's one reason, yes.

I do that, but say "Good morning/afternoon/evening" as appropriate.
It's just a habit more than a superstition now.

*Ding.* A jaunty wave to Lone Magpies when on the Queen's Highway is
another habit that I have got into.

ta. In theory there's nothing wrong with it apart from being pig-ugly
and leaking oil. It was running the last time I saw it, but that was,
    what, 2 years ago?

I asked her exactly that question years ago.

    Her answer?

    "That would be just stupid".

are you absolutely sure you haven't slung it up the road since? The
pics that Ant took make it look much, much worse than I remembered.
