Just heard this on Jack Fm

Why did Nick Clegg cross the road?

Because he forgot he'd pledged not to.

 

Welcome to last week.

It's mutated a bit, mind. Back then it was "Why did Nick Clegg cross the
road? Because he said he wouldn't"

 

Last week? That's far too modern for me.

 

Surely the real answer is that it was the only chance that he and his
party could maintain cabinet positions?

 

"Because there was a cabinet position on the other side"

 

Then you probably haven't heard this one:
"How do you get three liberals on a bar-stool?"
or
"Which liberal leader was prosecuted for having an offensive person on
his weapon?"

 

I made the exact same point in a conversation on FB the other day.

It's easier to argue from a position of relative ignorance though, as
plenty are happy to demonstrate.
