Stupid Mistake with a Motorcycle

  3. Yes indeed. Lovely, lovely looking bike. If ever I have a
    ShiteOldBritSingle, it'll be one of these.

    But it was not "designed for track racing". Which was my point.

    The MX version was as close as you'll get - stripped down, intended for
    off-road use only - but it was really just a Victor with the bits taken
    off. And for the USA, it was sold as a Triumph anyway.

    Now what *was* designed for dirt racing was the titanium-framed Beeza...

    So much so it almost made my eyes misty.
    Whatever else it was used for such as hill climbing, trials,
    enduro etc, the Victor's pedigree was MX dirt track racing:

    the 441 cc Victor Scrambler is produced.

    With 441 cc displacement and a hard-chrome plated alloy barrel, this

    To me, the street version was a Victor with bits added on
    to make it road legal -- for instance you could ride it to
    events and compete.

    Buying a Ducati thinking they had a strong gearbox.

    Buying a Moto-Guzzi thinking it would have a stronger gearbox than the
