Sunax visor thingy

I recently acquired on of these:

    http://www.sunax.de/english/index.html

and fitted it to my helmet. Seemed like a good idea, and it's okay when
you're riding directly into low sun. The implication is that you can leave
it fitted year-round. The reality is that, 99% of the time, it's irritating
as ****, distracting, obscures part of your field of vision and leads to the
adoption of odd head angles trying to see past it.

Of course, this may just be me being awkward and intolerant, so if anyone
else wants to give the thing a go, you're welcome to it. It's the Arai
version, with the cutouts for the rubber snouts.

I have one fitted to my Shoei and it can just be pushed back up into the
crack if not wanted. I would not get another one though as the surface
bubbled and cracked making it tricky to seek through. One of those
promotional bands stuck to the top of the visor is cheaper (free) and as
    effective.

Can't do this with an Arai.
I think I'll stick with sunglasses.

No you need the Hyperoptics reactolite type fog city. It darkens in 4
secs and clears again quickly for tunnels and the like. They are the
    utter dogs bollocks.

I thought the Sunax thing would be better. It wasn't.

Nah, Caberg internal drop down black visor. Instant "on/off" is what yer
    need.

I like my Schuberth for exactly that reason. Instant 80%, or 0%. Canines
    cojones.

Tricky to swap from clear glasses to shades at speed.

Do you find that when the internal visor and the outside visor are both
down, you get a definite "double glazing" effect where both noise and
draughts are cut down? That's been the next best thing about the Caberg for
    me.

Hard to tell on the beemer(1), where all is serene and the only loud thing
    is the music(2)

    (1) I'll have a listen next time I'm out, say tomorrow.
    (2) Apart from the absolutely appalling racket made by some of those
japanese mounted, after market end can types. You know the sort.

It begins to really tell at speeds above 100.
Indeed I do and so do my neighbours.

Experiment completed. no discernable difference. Perhaps it's the selective
    hearing that comes with age.
    Or I'm deaf.
