  1. BUYER BEWARE!
Thinking of buying a SUNL ATV or product? DON'T DO IT!!
Below is what you can expect!
Extremely low quality, no after the sale service or parts.
SUNL is just a bait and switch JUNK dealer! Do not waste your money!

I bought my son a sunl go kart and it is also a piece of crap!!

We were a SUNL dealer but we had nothing but problems... One scooter came with out a gas tank! Another one had no ignition key; numerous DOA's. The parts department was totally non-supportive, we tried to get a wiring diagram and were told that we hadn't bought the scooter from them (Company letter-head, hmmm), so no support.

For those of you who have complaints about SUNL, you are correct. You get what you pay for, JUNK. I know this because I am one of you. I thought, when buying the 70CC quad, how bad could it be? Well, if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would buy the brand name. To add insult to injury, I then bought the 150CC go kart, based on price. Another mistake. The 70 never starts, when it does, it leaks gas all over the floor and drains the tank. One of the bolts for the exhaust was switched with the carb, creating an intake leak. (from the factory) even fixing this didn't fix the starting issue, so don't tell me I need to maintenance the unit. It should run right out of the box. I changed the carb and all it does it foul plugs. I have to keep a battery charger handy to to run it (when it starts). As for the 150, the intake manifold consistently separates from the carb when the engine travels and causes it to shut off. You think they would take this into account when designing.
If they are clones, they must have been the quality rejects. Reverse is a nightmare and mine just shredded. They also run the brake cable right over the battery box so it's almost impossible to remove. Another engineering wonder. I could go on for a long time, but the moral of the story is, Buy the Brand name, SUNL is Inferior Scrap and will cause you grief and get your children hurt. It doesn't matter how much experience they have. When the carb lid unscrews from vibration and it runs wide open, you better hope it's you on there and not your child. I was fortunate it happened while I was testing it. If they are so good, why only a 30 day warranty??? For those of you who swear by them, I offer this to you "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes".

I recently bought a sunl sld 29 125cc dirtbike. It broke the day i bought it. The bolts that hold the motor to the frame snapped while riding it. It hit me on my leg making a large bruise. After i fixed that the valves in both tires busted. Then the dealer charged me $35 for 1 tube but kawasaki charged $5 for a better tube. The sunl tube busted again the kawasaki didn't give a problem. Then my throttle cable broke. The price for a new one was outrageous. After i fixed that, the clutch cable broke again the price was outrageous. After that the bolts on the motor broke again making another bruise on my leg. Not only that parts break but they are of poor quality the clutch on it is very bad, and doesn't have any pull. The bolts on the suspension are always loose. I have to tighten them before during and after i ride. The chain stretches so fast that i have to tighten it two times a day. The chain has broken twice making me flip both times the bike landed on my leg, and i was onl
y in 2nd gear. The bearing in the wheels are very bad i bent mine and had to change them, and they bent on level ground while moving very slow. The air filter is always needing to be cleaned. The carburetor is made of low quality and it floods for no reason. You can't find many parts to make it better. The sponsorship sticker on the bike are just stickers those parts aren't really on it. I think that everyone should get together and do something to stop them. And my problems can't be blamed on poor maintenance because i take care of it, all my problems happed within a month of buying it!!! And it is still breaking regret buying it everyday!!!

    Not honoring warranty
    Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
On June 29,2007, I purchased a 250cc off road go-kart for my son. I have had nothing but trouble with it since day one. We had the machine less than a day and the drive belt went, and I was charged $200.00 to repair it. The place where I purchased the machine did the work. They ended up putting the wrong belt and sending it back to me, with the wrong belt on the machine. Got the machine home and it was running worse than before. The machine had no pick-up, and would not climb out of my driveway, which by the way is less than a 3% grade. After a week of complaining to the owner of Motorcycle Madness, which is where I purchased the machine, I finally received the correct belt. The belt was installed, and the machine still would not run. I called back Motorcycle Madness and spoke with the owner about this problem. I told him that it did not work , and my son wanted his money back, the owner said to me that it will never happen, he will not get a new machine or his money back. He
is not honoring the warranty for this machine.

Not sure yet about the quality as I just bought this via a private sale. What I can say is it is very hard or so far impossible to find parts. The 200 cc ATV I purchased was missing the skid plate. For more than 2 weeks I have tried to find this part. I have contacted the Corporate offices, local dealer, (who says he's not even a dealer), the NJ office, Houston, Dallas... I have talked to the National Sales Manager who just blew me off. Left messages for every extension at the corporate office and just can't get a simple part. I am now having it custom manufactured. I hope the ATV lasts for 1 summer, that is all I expected. It had less than 1 hour use on it when I purchased it. The plastic was still on the seat. I can tell, I have been in business for nearly 25 years and have never seen anything like this company. Absolutely!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

    Poor Quality product
My son purchased a 110cc dirt bike from a distributor in WI with his own hard earned money on 7-4/06.
He was told that this was a high quality product built and designed after Honda. Well let me tell you
this is not true. We have had nothing but problems since this bike was purchased. After only driving
this dirt bike 8 times, the frame broke and luckily he was not badly injured. We have sent many hours
and a great deal of money on repairing this bike.
The worst now is the dealer will not stand behind this product and repair or assist in getting this
    bike issue resolved.

Glad to have found this site to vent on. My son bought one of these
from NYDiscountmotors on Feb. 19 on ebay. Nothing but problems since
it came out of the crate. Starter wouldn't work, so he was jump
starting it for about two weeks. Place was going to meet us halfway
between NY and CT to fix problem, then tells me to take it somewhare
and they will reimburse cost. Did that and the day before we took it
all of a sudden the starter worked. Guy up here looked at it, couldn't
find why it wouldn't start before, needed headlight replacement. Was
never sent. Then they won't reimburse him the $90 because it was now
working. Then agreed to pay half, still haven't gotten it. Body parts
are broken off, cheap plastic, In March the chain broke, $38 to
replace that with a good chain By beginning of May, rear brake pads
completly gone. Another $68 to replace them, once the guy found ones
that matched. Yesterday, the front wheel is now sheared right off the
axle. Luckily he was going around a curve and not going fast. These
are a piece of $1000 junk. He rides in the woods on trails he and his
friends have made and these bikes are just not rugged enough for that.
He had a Polaris 90 Sport we got used for $600. That on had been
flipped, crashed, drowned and never broke off a body part. On this
piece of crap the entire right side from front fender to back is in
pieces and other parts are cracked. He has sure learned a
hard lesson for a 14 year old. NY Discount motors response is
basically you get what you pay for. They are really mad because I left
neutral feedback on them. Just said good sale, shoddy product, email
for info before bidding. Ruined there 100% positive rating. Have asked
me to recind it, was considering it, until the wheel incident. Sorry
to go on so long, but just needed to vent. I guess buyer beware is
    really true. Thanks

All the bad things you have read about SUNL are correct, why bother
    with JUNK!

Things I've had go wrong in the first 3 months:

1.) Chain broke after the "guard" squashed against it after casual
    trail riding...and I mean CASUAL.
2.) Bolts to the swing arm axle adjuster fell out after a day of
CASUAL riding, used red thread lock to fix it, took an hour to find
    them in the field.
3.) Throttle cable got stuck after a day of attempted mud riding...my
son held on for dear life!
4.) Frame developed a crack near the lower swing arm joint...hmmm.
5.) Gas tank developed a hair line crack after another day of CASUAL
riding (this is when I decided it was no longer safe for my son to
    ride it).

So, bottom line, if your having good luck with your SUNL, your among A
FEW. Don't waste your money...that's all I'll say.

    Buyer beware!
In April of 2006 I purchased 6 ATV's from a SUNL dealer thru EBAY.
This dealer, who I will not name, has been so very helpful. I have no
complaints at all about him. He has sent me box after box of parts for
free. What absolutely floors me, is how incredibly poorly these things
are made. My kids are all average sized, ranging from 6 yrs old to 11
yrs old. They only ride them on the weekends in our 4.5 acres of flat
as can be grass yard. No jumps, tricks, rough riding, nothing. These
things have been an endless headache for me. I seriously can't tell
you how many hours and hours I have spent trying to make these things
work. Here are just a few problems I have encountered: CONSTANT carb
problems-float needles sticking open causing the carb to empty the
entire fuel tank all over the ground/floor. Needles sticking shut
causing the engine not to start. Fuel lines cracking and leaking all
over the hot engine after only one month of riding. Dead batteries
every weekend causing me to need to jump start them off of my battery
charger just to get them going. All of them have had the chains break
at least once. The frame on one of the 110's broke in half where the
swingarm meets while my 60 lb daughter was riding it, luckily she was
not hurt. All of them have had parts break, fall off, loosen up, etc
for no reason. I got to the point where I was putting Loctite on
everything! I could go on and on. At this point, only ONE of the SIX I
purchased is running. They are parked permanently. Now, I knew that
these were not going to be as good as the Hondas that I originally
wanted to buy (the Hondas are 5 times the $), but I didn't think these
things would be so terribly made and downright dangerous. In the end,
I guess you do get what you pay for. BUYER BEWARE!

Just picked up a brand new 150cc scooter by SUNL. Got it cheap, but as
I am finding out, getting replacement body panels are difficult to
come by. I email SUNL in Texas but they don't respond. I email a
distributor in City of Industry, California, and they too don't
respond. It would appear the SUNL is another fly by night company or
    run out of someone's bedroom.

Run away from anything that says SunL on it. We used to deal in their
scooters also and they were nothing but problems.
