I think Hatz was right; the F04 Dukes were sandbagging!
(Oh well; places 3 onwards should make entertaining watching anyway)

Will be interesting to see what Vermeulen dose, His time is just of the
04 Ducs times, And more than 1 sec quicker than 4 pos, Will he be doing a
    Suzuki? (re 2003).

I doubt he'll even finish his first race on the brand new bike but it
    certainly shows the potential there!

I think you'll find that there's a typo in the time for 4th place and that
should actually be 1.36.980... 3/1000th of a second slower than Vermeulen..
not 1003/1000th of a second. According to those times, if you take away the
    #1, there's less than 7/10ths of a second between 2nd 12th and there's a
honda, suzuki and a couple of FP1s in the mix there. Is Regis really 1 full
second faster or is that another typo?

He was in superpole a whole second in front

Then all went pear shaped in the warmup

Shows promise, as does S Martin (good name, that).

I just checked the final results and compared them to MotoGP's Valencia
round last year. In the past there wasn't much in it between WSBs and
the GP bikes. However, this year, the diff between Superpole, GP
qualifying and fastest laps (race), is now 4.something secs.

For or against the motoGP ? If it's for I suspect the control tyres on the
ducati cup contestants is probably hampering lap times.

Well if MotoGP race there in 11degree Temps - I'm sure that the times would
    be slower

For MotoGP. I didn't check 2003 WSB times for Valencia. So I dunno if
the WSBs are slower. Still, the GP bikes appear to be faster this year,
given the PI times a coupla weeks ago.

As for the WSB control tyre thing, is it my conspiricy paranoia or is it
a co-incidence that the tyres are Italian sourced, and the WSBs is well,
    run by Italians?

Maybe the mob has been shaking down WSBs in order to get a piece of the
    de action....

At the 1st round of WSB the weather probably has something to do
with the times being so different to Moto GP , from what I have
read it was either cold and or wet .
Once the teams sort out which compound goes where then times will
    probably drop a little.

It should make for more of an interesting year instead of a
    Hodgson benefit.

    Haga for the title anybody?
