150 to 200. Which, as I posted elsewhere, is several times more than
I've ever paid for a watch.

Not if you're not shit :) I've had this watch since I was 13 heh, I'm now
    24. Just your basic Animal surfwatch, cost £90 back then. Still keeps good
    time.

Quite. My 30 quid Casio is about 10 years old, and I only replaced
that because I lost its 20 quid predecessor.

When I heard about it I thought "oh, that sounds interesting", but then
forgot about it. Now you've brought it up I agree with the above, and
the website made me not want one after seeing what the target consumer
is supposed to be. There's proper neg.

The only time I've owned a watch worth more than about ?20 is when I
was bought a titanium one, but that's nowhere near Cane's idea of
expensive. I didn't wear a watch for a year or two, and now I find it
uncomfortable to wear one anyway. I occasionally wear the ti one, but I
find the strap either too loose so that it slides down and digs into my
hand, or too tight that I can't quite forget about it.

Back to the SE watch, I understand the appeal of looking like a bit of
a ****[1], but that watch is a bit much. You can't even do the
flash-git thing as if someone asks about it you'll sound like a right
nerd - "oh, this is my bluetooth phone watch that tells me when I've
    got a message".

It'll be even worse when they say "why don't you just look at your
    phone? What watch is it?"

    "The Sony Ericsson MBW-100."

    ....

[1] I've been pondering a replacement bike in Ridiculous Orange. Not
sure how that's going to go - I should look at some insurance quotes
    first I suppose.

Well... I managed to leave my Omega in a gym locker once. Fortunately
it was still there the following morning when the gym opened.

**** knows. I've lost almost every watch I've ever owned. IME the ones with
metal straps tend to disappear quicksharpish, when one of the pins bends and
the strap flies off. Normally when you're pissed or involved in some sort of
mishap. Other than that, I take them off and forget where I took them off. I
found one of my old watches in an old car in the barn (which I'd not driven
in 2 years). Still had the right time on it too.

I like taking watches off. At the end of the day it's a manacle...

£2.5K. Still a lot to lose at least every 12 months.

Maybe you could get a bluetooth bracelet to control the MP3 feature on the
    watch?
Maybe you could get a bluetooth toupee to tell you when the watch is showing
    an incoming call?
    Next week?

Hmm. I forgot where it was for about 40 minutes. Then was pissed off
for about 6 hours and anxious for 30 minutes.

"After all, what would our list be without this “bling-bling” watch seen
on countless celebrities including David Beckham and Naomi Campbell?
    $13,000"

    Says it all really.
