More than enough. I got helmet & mx boots plus body armour and 2 sets mx
gear and 5 sets of t-shirt/pants/socks in on a qantas allowance no problems.
    That lasted me 6 weeks.

And if yr going to Aus you buy t-shirts and stuff out there 'cos it's
cooler, what with the summer collections coming out 6 months earlier than
    here, and cheaper anyway.

Of course you get *screwed* on return baggage.... :)

WTF are you planning to take?

I did several weeks in Aus with IIRC about 12 kilos of luggage. It'll
be warm so you barely need more than a few tshirts and clean
    undercrackers.

  3. I've never been charged, and I've had "Heavy Item" labels put on
once or twice. Tho' to be fair I haven't flown long-distance in quite a
    while.

  5. Friend of mine, flying to South Africa 4 years ago, made the huge mistake of
using "the world's favourite airline". She was taking about 20 kilos excess
[going there to live, 6 months north and 6 south], but was slightly startled
by a charge of £39+/kilo with no negotiation. Reeling from a charge of
almost £1,000, she not unsurprisingly resolved never to use the bastards
    again.

  9. All the same though, it would have been smarter to expect a ripoff price
for that and send the stuff as normal airfreight.

Heh, it's different. The only thing that Paris and London really have
in common are that they're both Capital cities.
Paris (and a number of other European cities) work on the premise that
people using the public transport system are to be trusted. SO no-one
bats and eyelid if people jump the barriers. Even the staff don't
bother to intervene (threats of violence probably don't help). BUT if
you're caught without a ticket, then it can get nasty, so I'm told.
TBH, the prices on the public transport system are so bloody cheap
compared to London, that I don't see the point of fare dodging to save
    a couple of euros.
The last time I was in GdN, it was under major refurbishment. I don't
know if the RER is being done up too though.

At least you can feel safe on the RER now, as there will be (about?)
six plod per train (on line B at least) from now until the end of the
year, as there have been attacks on drivers (again). The threat of a
strike is too great for the RER management to let this slide.
    Bit cold now though, innit?
On my list now, as I get asked this question quite often.

The last time I drank some Californian wine, it was absolute shite.

If you really want some of that, go to a restaurant called "Buffalo
Grill" which serves equally shite food.

Well, we're taking both lids, bib & brace troos, glubs, etc. The nice
people at the bike shop will look after our cases, while we try to
cram everything into three 45 litre Givi boxes.
    Per "piece".

  20. No I don't. For example I don't subscribe to uk.railway because it is
just far too tedious. I read two railway magazines a month - my
knowledge comes from that and from working within the industry that
gives me an understanding of issues.
