I wonder what the proportion is of people with an interest in
motorcycles that have received a copy of Long Way Down this Christmas
from some random friend/relative "because I know you're interested in
    bikes".

Not I. I was both surprised and pleased, too!

Likewise. I've found the few episodes I've watched rather boring.

The Long Way round film was OK, but the book was crap. This time, The
Long Way Down is, er, the other way around.

Me too, plus The Long Way Round and The Long Way Round Special addition
DVDs. This will go nicely with last years present of The Long Way
    Round on DVD.

I didn't watch THWR but got the book via the inevitable Because
You're Interested In Bikes present route. I read about 2 chapters
before deciding it wasn't worth reading any more of.

I bought myself "Adventures of a WWI despatch rider" which is an odd
read. Nearly all of the action takes place around the route to Chimay,
    which adds a little interest.
