Survey - motorcycle safety

  1. Via the MCC:

A survey by the Federation of European Motorcycluists.

(If you can't be aresed reading about it but just like taking surveys
The survey is available in English here:
    https://www.soscisurvey.de/2BeSafe_en/ )
    ===========

    Hi all,

Some of you may recall hearing about the 2BeSafe project, being run in
Europe but involving researchers from Monash as well.

There was a presentation on this at the 1st International
Motorcyclists Conference in Brussels last year, which you can view
    here:

Australian riders have now been invited to complete an online survey
as part of the project – see details below.

I’ve done the survey myself; the only question which can’t be answered
from an Australian perspective is about licence type as they have
different codes in Europe – so I suggest either leaving this blank or
add a comment. I’ve been in contact with FEMA this week about that.

The survey is only open until 15 May, so please distribute this as
    widely as possible.

    Thanks,

    Shaun

    Subject: Rider Survey dissemination

    Hi Shaun,

I hope you're doing fine since the last time we spoke.

I'm writing to you briefly to inform you that the 2-BE-SAFE
    ( http://www.2besafe.eu/ )European
research project on motorcycle safety is launching a survey on rider
attitudes towards risk and use of ITS for riding assistance. We think
AMC might be interested in disseminating it to Australian riders, so
their views are included in the results along with those of Europeans.

2-BE-SAFE is trying to better understand rider behaviour, in order to
issue recommendations for safety policies. They are working for
instance on simulators (to study rider behaviour and training in the
laboratory) and naturalistic driving/riding studies. Of course, one of
the best ways to understand rider behaviour is to ask riders
themselves. Therefore, the project is launching an online rider survey
asking riders about their riding habits, their perception of risk (to
find out what riders think is dangerous and do something about it),
and what they expect from Intelligent TransportSystems.

An article on the issue is published on the FEMA website, keeping
things in context, asking riders to participate, and explaining that
participation is beneficial to the riding community, and not something
    negative. It is available here:
    http://www.fema-online.eu/index.php...ail,0&cntnt01articleid=204&cntnt01returnid=15

The survey is available in English here:
https://www.soscisurvey.de/2BeSafe_en/ the authors were looking into
having Australian riders participate, and made sure to include in the
English version provisions for countries where driving is on the left,
and distances in miles. The deadline for responding is May 15th. Don't
hesitate to come back to me should you have any questions.

I'm also happy to inform you that Australian Ambassador Dr Nelson is
again taking part in the MEP Ride, since he had such a good time last
    year. :)

    Ride free,
