well I got a quote on a floor stock sv1000sk3 for 16370 ride away,
apparently about a grand off. is this a good value.

the only problem I had was when I sat on it, I got a sharp pain in the top
of my left leg, ive never had that sitting on any other bike, but this has
happened on both occasions ive sat on one. seemed to go away, maybe I just
need to build an unused mussel up, as I could touch the ground with both
    feet and all.
    ..
problem is, no test ride, which im not too happy about, as id like to know
    how it goes first..

I don't mind the look of the bike and would love a v2, ive ridden a
firestorm, and currently have a vtr250. ive also ridden a few other bikes,
so if someone owns one or has ridden one, let me know of how it is and bikes
    you would compare it too..

    cheers

seema good bike and get good reviews so far

    no test ride no money

    tell em to get rooted

why pain in leg, get that soted , you buy a bike thats hurts your leg, how
much are you gonna ride it

only thing id say about a sv1000s , is they could be a bit of a bummer
resale value, excpet for vtr sp1 and 2, oz's love affair with jap v-twins
seems to be over - people seem to have swung back to fast in lines fours ,
you might get stuck with it later, imho only and only my observations to go
    on

    price seems high

I am reluctant to buy a bike with out test riding one, id probably head down
to Melbourne or Sydney to find a test rider i'd would probably get a better
    deal that way as well.

one thing about em is the pillion pegs, there too small, are there any
decent after market ones available as I do plan on a bit of touring...

with the leg, I think its a case of position my legs not use to, it seemed
to go away after a sitting on the bike for a minute or two...

I still like v2's my self, but I dono about the price, I live in Griffith, a
country area were there is very little to look at and test ride, expensive
and you feel like punching the sales man in the mouth because he's so
stupid, infact most ppl here I feel like hitting.

    cheers

Yeah?? Since when? I was up there last year looking for a new bike, they couldn't be
bothered getting off their dates to serve us and when they did there was no way that
I was getting a ride on the Aprilia I liked, no ride, no sale I told them as I walked
out the door taking my money elsewhere.

Spammy is in NSW at the moment so it doesn't help him much anyway. Nearest decent
dealers to you would be Canberra wouldn't they Spammy?

    Don't!

    [/QUOTE]

I'm with Burnie on this one. I reckon the SV engine is more
"V-Twin-like" than the TLR. Runs better at lower revs and has a good mid
range punch. Still revs well though for a twin.

I've put a few thousand K's on my SV1000s and love it. Traded an '01
firestorm on it. It costs more than the honda but you get much more for
    your money (suspension/brakes/injection/power/styling/........). Plus my
experience with Honda has turned me off. Don't get me started about
those c%@ts at Honda's head office!

My only complaint is the stock pipes - IMO they are very quiet and very
ugly. A set of Yoshi's fixed that - they look and sound sooo much better.

Pillion pegs two small? Why would you give a toss? But seriously - my
partner has no complaints regarding pegs or seating. She finds it more
comfy than the firestorm. I'm 190cm tall and find the bike as
comfortable as any sports tourer I've riden.

I can't really comment on price since trade in value complicates the
issue. Honda trying to flog of the new but outdated firestorms didn't
help my cause. I got the bike from Mat Mladin Motorcycles in Narrellan
(Sydney). Very happy with the service from these guys and test rides are
offered - no need to ask!

The SV is highly recomended by this happy owner.

    cheers

I've never had experience like that there but I believe ya, there's always
exceptions and a bad salesman or two. I had the same experience a couple of
times at Powercycles, Virginia, so I took my business up to the Sunnycoast.

Yeah, Canberra 8 hours, Melbourne around 7 hours, Sydney's around 12 hours
away. Wagga is 2 hours away but no test rides their either.

I was actually knocked back to test ride a 2nd hand blackbird here, on the
grounds that they wont let people test ride bikes like this with out them
placing a serious bid on the bike first, i.e. you buy it, before you find
    out its stuffed..

There is no LOGIC in this town.

ive ridden many bikes, found some I like, and others ppl love but I didn't
like. So I am not going to buy a bike with out test riding it, simple as
    that.

    cheers
