SV650 - has started stalling at inconvenient moments

I've got a 2003 SV650 K3 model and as above it ticks over
nicely but rather slowly, just over 1000RPM but will easily
stall, hot or cold, usually if not always as I'm slowing down
and just as I change into a lower gear. This has become more
pronounced lately to the point where it's annoying, I also get
the impression that on overrun the engine acts as though it's
    cut out completely.

I normally just thumb the starter and it fires straight back up
again although in hot weather - no not recently - it had a
tendency to die immediately after re-starting.

Any suggestions or tips gratefully received.

Take it to your nearest Suzuki dealer and ask them to rechip it so that it
    stalls at convenient moments.

It's not carb icing, so that's my suggestions from previous ownership
out the window. Have you made any modifications?

My Firestorm used to stall, most of the time at inconveient moments like
half way out of a junction.

    That has its appeal

Indeed - and ask them to check the idle speed as well.

My GSX-R was cutting out at traffic lights because it was idling about
250rpm lower than it should have been.

FWIW, the SV (K1) I had cut out too but that was because of a) carb icing
and b) the exhaust I fitted.

A vist to the dealer seems to be in order then. Only it'll have
to be a different dealer from Bikesmart in North Ealing on
account of they shut up shop about 3 months after I bought it
from them. Good job it's a manufacturers warranty.

I had the same problem with my K1. Turned out it was the idle
(tickover?) set too low. Mine is set at 1200.

HTF can it stall when you're moving and in gear? The motor might die,
I suppose, but that's very different from a stall.

It would hiccup and just die. Tickover was set correctly, it had been
set up on Fowlers dyno after the Scorpions were fitted, but just as you
were pulling out of a junction and applying a bit of throttle the engine
would hiccup and die. It nearly went over a couple of times as it used
to catch me out. I tried everything to stop it stalling, in the end I
turned the air screw out a quarter turn and that seemed to cure it.
