Anyone want to swap a FZR250RR for some other bike / scooter? I thought
I'd give ukrm people a chance to aquire it, before I put it up for sale.

Swap it for an MZ in need of a little bottom end work? ;-)

I'd be more tempted, if you got it fixed first. :)

I'm going to (hopefully) get round to pulling the crank this week, but
actually getting hold of another might be a bit of a mission, unless I
want to rebuild it as a 250.

It'll go that far? How about the oil pump, would that need to be swapped
out for a higher capacity one?

Oh, silly me. Indeed. An MZ with a chair would be a dead cert though. :)
I'd be able to go and fly my model planes and stuff.

....and blank the pump off, lest the orifice concerned allow a load of
unaccounted for air to become part of the mixture equation.

The fuckers who nicked my MTX80 years ago, decided premix was for them, and
having junked the rear 'hugger', which was housed the battery, air filter
and two smoke bottle, it ran like a lump of shite due to the pump just
    feeding air into the engine.

Bad form and all that, but some info about the bike.

Made in 1990, 249cc 16 valves, 4 cylinders, Exup power valve thingy..
According to which source, between a claimed 40hp and 45hp at the crank
at about 16,000 rpm. Lovely twin disk brakes, as others who have ridden
    it will vouch for. :)

New chain / sprockets, tyres, re-chromed forks, new plugs, rebuilt
carbs, had its valves checked and adjusted too, new clutch plates, new
front braided brake lines... and an over all fettle of systems,
including adjustment of the exup system / ballanced / adjusted carbs,
    (fully synthetic) oil, filter.

It's the (mostly) one true colour, and located in Brighton, Sussex.

It's done 42399Km, and it taxed / mot until November 05.

Pictures are here... (before I got new tyres for it)

That's a pain going pre mix, plus you have to fettle the carb and change
jets too, or it'll run lean and likely nip up.

Get a 250 motor and replace the barrel, piston and head from your 300.
Problem solved and no need to split the cases.

    Or alternatively...

Get the whole plot here and I'll replace the crank, it'll only take a
day. Muck only lives the other side of Brighton to me.

Anything with word Tri-ang in it's name is going to be good. It could be
three wheeler with a boot for filling with mud.

    <fx: gets excited>

Come on TOG, what's a Sharma Tri-ang, and why is it worth swapping for
    an FZR?
