Swiss motorway vignette

I've been trying to buy one on the cheap on Ebay. None have come up in the
last few days.

Anybody have one they want to get rid of?

 

You can borrow the mini's windscreen if you want ;-)

Seriously, stick with hunting on eBay they do come up.

I got one for around £12 in Jan.

They're only £19 when you're over there and can be had from most
garages/service stations within 30k of the borders.

I looked at that. The robbing bastards want £21 plus £5 handling charge. As
Brownz says, it's 40CHF at the border, which is about £19

 

Make sure you have CHF in cash or that will get generously translated into
40 EUR.

Did the canon-ballers recently arrested in .ch make the news back in .uk?

 

Rubbish. They might rip you off a little by using a 1.5 chf/eu
exchange rate (currently it's around 1.6) but that's about all.

first happened a few years back.

Thing is, I cross the motorway border just about every work day atm
and I'm 99% certain that there's a price quoted in Euros too.

That's my experience too - a bad rate but not extortionate.

 

silly fucker: did you not do any research about the cuntishness of Austrian
plod? They did a couple of mates for filtering to the front of a traffic
light queue, for 15 euros each.

Last time I rode through Austria, on the way to/from Croatia, a 10 day
vignette was under 5 euros. D'oh!

 

I remember Wik, Suze and I ending up buying one, having simply taken
a wrong turn somewhere between France, Germany and Switzerland.

We were aiming for switzerland, iirc. It had been a long day.

Actually it might have been a swiss vignette we bought.

See, that's how lost we were, I can't even remember the country.
Anyway, the moral of the story is we showed no fear and just spoke
loudly and slowly until johnny foreigner let us go, and somehow we
made it to the hotel in time for drinks and snacks.. possibly going
via Germany and France a couple of times more.

Cultural ambassadors, that was us.
